Rose Centifolia Floral Wax

Few things in life bring tears to my eyes quite like aromatics do but when I think of a flower so perfect, so indispensable, so pretty, I think of the Cabbage Rose. It is the heart and soul of a natural perfume when included and while I tend to think of it as a purely feminine scent, when I smell soft rose notes on a man, I’m lost in the sensual masculinity of this evenly yolked floral.

I chased the dragon for almost two years before securing this floral wax. Every time I was able to place an order, it was sold out, gone to others I felt couldn’t love it like I would. But a moment opened like the ocean receding with gifts from deep waters and I was to have this orange floral offering. When the courier arrived, I smiled because I could smell the wax even before it arrived at our shipping entrance. I knew it would be loved by me and by other fans of floral waxes and would find purpose in lotions and creams and solid perfumes. I felt it would be talked about in years to come as the floral wax of all floral waxes thanks to meaningful and caring way it was tended to, harvested and produced. And I hoped it would be sweetly thought of as I think of the well polished piece that sits on my nightstand from holding it every night before I go to sleep.

What is a floral wax? Flowers or plant materials that are too delicate to survive steam distillation are macerated in solvent. The maceration which includes the scent molecules and flower waxes then becomes a concrète and is further blended with 190 proof perfumer’s alcohol and chilled to separate the maceration or tincture and floral wax. 

Suggested uses: Rose centifolia floral wax requires a bath to work with in a variety of formations. It can be added in soap making, creams, lotions, lip gloss, salves, balms and perfume solids. It can be used to replace beeswax when making vegan skincare and other DIY formulations. Once the wax is warmed, it can be worked into shea butter for a scented body butter or added to a carrier oil to lightly scent and add viscosity.
