St. Johns Wort Hydrosol

At any given time, I have a copy of John Lust’s “The Herb Book” at my desk, a stained shirt from foraged berries (often Oregon Grape) and a bag of wild crafted plants for maceration in my carrier bag, often plantain and St.John’s Wort. Long considered a weed, St. John’s Wort, like so many other plants of that designation are medicinals key to wellness.

🌼St. John’s Wort hydrosol is a curious almost tannic astringent hydrosol: familiar with its green notes yet a little strange. And yet, I can’t imagine my apothecary without either the hydrosol or essential oil. The hydrosol supports treatment for inflamed hormonal acne. The hydrosol is calming and I found that when blended with Helichrysum Hydrosol, my skin glows after a week of use. Calms my soul a little too.
Shelf life: twelve months and even up to a year and a half. Refrigerate to prolong freshness.
