Moments after the wood violet arrival in dead of winter, the musky notes of snowdrop can be smelled through a blossom so tenacious, it holds its own in winter air. The vibrant green stems carpet its surroundings, announcing with more conviction than Punxsatawney Phil, the signal of a spring to come. The flower is small and delicate, perfuming the cold winter air with top notes of almond and musk. The wild bulb contains the greatest concentration of alkaloids and stems have some as well but it is the cultivated flower where scent is captured that contains the least. Usage by drop and dilution is minimal at worst. Snowdrops are from the amaryllidaceae family and are native to the woods and mountain meadows. Snowdrop absolute is small batch extracted; a very rare offering to inspire creamy white musks and lily of the valley accords and natural perfumers.
