When I find a producer for a new essential oil, I typically request the hydrosol of which often I’m dissuaded from purchasing. There is an assumption that hydrosols has no value with a lot of producers, that it is a throw away by-product of distillation and this hydrosol was no different. I’m glad I brought Frankincense Occulta hydrosol to these shores. Like the essential oil, I’m learning to understand the scent and use of this rare species of Frankincense. It is unique to say the least and making comparisons or scent references are difficult. I will say that Occulta is balsamic and I detect a back note of Myrrh and but I’m still learning its notes, its nuances and uses. Frankincense occulta is worth discovering and exploring and my hope is we learn more as time goes on.
It’s worth noting that we don’t have a lot of this hydrosol and arrival time is long from Somalia so please expect intermittent availability.
Suggested use: on face as a skin toner and to soften skin. Very gentle on skin.
Shelf life: 12 months. Refrigerate to prolong freshness.
