As long as I’ve been on the hunt for Agarwood hydrosol, I’d wager I’ve searched for vetiver hydrosol as long or longer. I never gave up on the hope of spritzing my face with the earthy, seductive hydrosol. Vetiver moves me in a way that only an old treasured memory can and does. It makes me feel history and there are a few aromatics that can do that. I searched over two years if not more to find vetiver root worth distilling. Most of it was muddy, dirty and sometimes even disgusting. But I was not ready to give up and although I thought it would need to be ready to find me, I did finally find a stellar supply of the roots.
When I distill this fragrant root, I’m rewarded with the aroma of vetiver in my entire workspace for days. I pick up almost an underlying floral note and a silky sultry essence in the root distillation itself. It’s a treasure to be able to produce a hydrosol that until now only existed in my dreams.
