We carry Australian Rose essential oil (which is more from the geranium family) and couldn’t see not having the beautiful Fruity Rose companion, Australian Rose Hydrosol. The essential oil is thought to inhibit pathological fungi Candida and Aspergillus. The hydrosol is ideal to use in treatment because it carries some of the chemical constituents of the oil but on a micro dose level. I call hydrosols the Homeopathy of essential oils, which my aromatic friends seem to think is funny as all get out and because I never made it as a singer, I’ll take my audience any way I can, kooky aromatherapists and all.
Australian Rose is a new species grown directly on our distilling partner’s plantation and so is still being studied for potential therapeutic properties. Because of the Geraniol chemotype or CT, I would characterize it as a fresh Rose Geranium with some fruitiness and no green back note. It’s almost delicious. The hydrosol is a very clean, fresh scent and best appreciated in the heat of summer when a light scent is prefered. In our City of Trees, where most summer days hit the 100 F mark, Australian Rose Hydrosol conquers red skin and the sheer stickiness of summer.
Suggested uses: Mist on skin to reduce redness and hydrate. Adds a fresh floralness on linen. Several mists to a warm sitz bath can help treat candida.
Packaged in 3.3oz/100 ml tamper proof glass bottles.
