I’ve grown weary of the dirty hippy label Patchouli has worn for far too long. Even if I buy inexpensive Patchouli oil for testing purposes plain curiosity, I still find it lacks the harsh, vulgar notes of the Woodstock era. Of course, there are those who don’t like the scent for various reasons, but I have to say that bad Patchouli no longer exists as far as I’m concerned. I’m often asked if Rose oil is good for skin care and specifically anti aging benefits, I confirm that it is, right after Patchouli oil.
Our patchouli collection is curated, aging our Indian Patchouli essential oils for years at a time and choosing Patchouli absolute from Indonesia where the scent holds fruity wine notes, not unlike the Cognac essential oil we are prohibited from selling here. The absolute is refined and ideal for perfumery without losing its DNA of rich amber notes. It has long sillage and serves as an effective middle note in compositions.
Suggested uses: Blends well in natural perfumery compositions – oriental, chypre and fougere accords. Beautiful addition to Cedarwoods, Lavender, Tobacco, Tonka Bean. Frankly many of the aromatics we carry will benefit this beautiful absolute.
