I’m glad I waited for the right distillation to come along because when this one landed, I knew it was “the one” for our apothecary. Mastic hydrosols and essential oils are typically distilled using the branches and smell accordingly so. This resin distillation is a whole other profile. Its the notes I taste when I sip Mastika or tasted in Mastic ice cream that I enjoyed in Egypt last year.
It was a little tricky researching Mastic hydrosol. Suzane Catty only mentioned it as a new hydrolat at time of publication and I wasn’t able to find much in my French apothecary books. I’ve been working with it since arrival observe benefits. I find it incredibly refreshing to spray my mouth with the hydrosol as well as very soothing applied to rosacea or hot skin. I have found it useful in pet care as a gentle cleaner for fur and ears.
Suggested use: Use on rosacea or blemished skin as an anti-inflammatory. Can be sprayed on the mouth to freshen breath and sooth red or tender gums. It can be used beautiful light natural perfume that has both masculine and feminine notes.
