Fragonia Hydrosol

Fragonia Hydrosol is one of those special hydrosols that smells like its essential oil counterpart, which is not always the case. Fragonia is fruity floral but also is a soft honey, Eucalyptus like scent that is very calming and peaceful – almost disarming and is one that improves sleep to a more restful state. Fragonia clears blockages both physically and emotionally which may account for the peaceful, easy feeling when breathing in a few mists of the hydrosol. It shines as a respiratory supportive and is one hydrosol I keep with me in my daily walks should I encounter that mystery tree that I’ve yet to identify but never fails to grab me be the throat. I use Fragonia to heal all the rose thorns and fronds that leave their wound marks in my foraging hands, their punishment for me taking what they never intended to give. Mark Webb, who authored ‚”Bush Sense‚” in 2000, first encountered the plant and oil in 2002 and both worked with and wrote about it. He recommends several formulas using Fragonia Hydrosol for respiratory support. It can also be added to a hand cream in small amounts to boost hydration. Fragonia Hydrosol is one of many newer hydrosols Australia has to offer and we are very excited and lucky to be introducing them in our apothecary.

Hydrosols are the water left after essential oil distillation and act as a skin medicinal. They carry hydrophilic and microscopic properties of essential oils in suspension. Hydrosols also contain carboxylic acid for anti-inflammatory activity. In my many years of anti aging skin formulating, I have witnessed the the importance of hydrosol use in combination with face serums for holistic anti aging skin care as well as an effective treatment of skin issues.We are very committed to storage and handling with all of our raw materials: all glass packaging in the Essential Oil Apothecary line is sterilized with 190 proof organic alcohol and stored in a climate controlled environment, surrounded with my personal collection of vintage found gemstones, some of which can been seen in many of our photos.
