Black Cardamom Essential Oil India

Aquatic notes are one, smoke is another. Juniper and birch tar extracts are a thin line between love and hate. They are so useful for a smoky composition and can ruin it with even the tiniest extra amount. It’s almost beyond the perfumer skill set to use. I’ve been determined for a very long time to find an oil that could introduce the tiniest amount of smoky notes without the pressure of its intensity. When I was handed black cardamom seeds two years ago, I knew I found my answer. The question was, would I find it with another producer or would I be the one to produce it. In the future, the answer may both but in the meantime I have found a producer willing to work with this beautiful spice.

Black cardamom has cardamom notes but unlike the green cardamom we carry, it is not the prominent note in the oil. The smokiness of this spice distillation is what carries through and answers the question of how to provide a whisper of smoke to a perfume without destroying the composition or creating a campfire perfume, I’m certain no one would buy. There’s an aquatic note on the dry down that I was surprised to discover during my evaluation. Surprised and excited.
