Mimosa is another wonderful offering in our floral wax line and has all the fragrant Acacia notes one expects from the flower. Past suppliers provided us with greenish colored hard Mimosa wax that I felt was harsh to the nose. Mimosa Absolute didn’t seem to improve the crude notes much so it was a wax that saw little use. It wasn’t awful by any means, but it wasn’t beautiful and that doesn’t fly in our store. Our new supply is soft, creamy and much like the fragrant Mimosa absolute we carry. The wax is easy to work with and in fact, when I carried some of the wax with me on a walk in search of acacia flowers, I was was surprised how soft it became with the warmth of my hands.
Suggested uses: Mimosa wax requires a bath to work with in a variety of formulations. It be added in soap making, creams, lotions, lip gloss, salves, balms and perfume solids. Mimosa can be used to replace beeswax when making Vegan skincare and other DIY formulations. Once the wax is warmed, it can be whipped into shea butter for a Mimosa scented body butter or added to a carrier oil to use as in many applications such a solid perfume.
